1914
Foundation in Trieste
Saul Sadoch founded the company in Trieste, initially trading in paper, cardboard, and related products. Thus began a business destined to grow over time.
1925
The 20s
After overcoming the difficult period of the World War II and the immediate postwar period, in the early 1920s Sadoch fully resumed its operations, which had suffered significant disruptions during the war years, and returned to the markets.
In the mid-1920s, the company acquired exclusive agency and sales rights for cigarette papers and tubes in Italy, Turkey, and Egypt, given its quality and experience gained over the years.
In 1925, a dedicated factory was set up with a machine for packaging cigarette papers and tubes.
1934
The 30s
Thanks to the years of recovery, the Company expanded its plant, increasing the number of production machines.
In 1934, Sadoch's production, recognized and appreciated abroad, received high recognition at a renowned industrial exhibition in London, receiving the gold medal.
New packaging machines were built and manufactured by the company's technicians, and in the same year, REX tubes and RIZ BRAVO papers were launched.
1939-1945
The 40s
Due to the racial laws instituted by the fascist regime, Saul Sadoch, declared "belonging to the Jewish race," encountered numerous difficulties in managing the company, which was then managed and directed by his eldest son, Emilio.
Despite difficult times and continuous production stoppages due to the war, new products were created, beyond tobacco products, such as confetti bags and crepe paper napkins.
1950
The 50s
As the company was organizing to diversify production and launch new strategies, its founder passed away in February 1950.
The company, managed by his two sons, Emilio and Ernesto, was among the first in Italy to operate in the disposable wipes sector.
Over the years, this led to the creation of Optics wipes, Liba wipes, and Linette multipurpose handkerchiefs.
1960
The 60s and 70s
Begun in the late 1950s and completed in the early 1960s, construction of the new five-story facility with a floor area of over 6,500 square meters allowed the company to flourish in its now consolidated markets. Thanks to modern machinery, some of which was built in-house, and to ever-expanding markets, the company specialized in party and picnic items: this led to the creation of the first plastic-coated paper plates, gift wrap, wardrobe lining paper, and numerous other products that are still recognized as high-quality today.
1981-1982
The 80s
Following the passing of Ernesto Sadoch, Paolo Sadoch took over the company in 1981, becoming its director. The third generation entered the company.
In 1982, thanks to Paolo Sadoch's foresight, the company signed an agreement with Walt Disney for the use of character images on its products. This important milestone led Sadoch to flourish after some particularly difficult years.
1998-1999
The 90s
In 1994, Sadoch acquired a paper processing plant in Feletto Umberto (UD), which, under a different brand, produced polypropylene bags, among other products.
After the construction of a paper processing center in the industrial area of Trieste failed due to the withdrawal of other companies involved in the project, in 1998 Sadoch completed the renovation of the new plant it had purchased in 1994 on its own. The plant, which was all on one floor and triple the size of the previous one, was a significant investment that made the company a leader in its market. The first photovoltaic system was installed on the roof of the new plant.
In 1999, the company expanded its production portfolio by acquiring a majority stake in a company in Calusco d'Adda, in the province of Bergamo. This created a productive synergy between the sites.
2008-2009
The 2000s
Since the new plant began operations, significant investments have been made, particularly in technology.
In 2009, the Company further invested by acquiring a significant stake in a paper bag manufacturer in the Padua area. Its own production continued to expand, establishing a high-quality Made in Italy product line in its portfolio.
In the same year, Paolo's son, Davide Sadoch, joined the company, marking the fourth generation of the family.
2014-2017
The 2010s
In 2014, Saul Sadoch celebrated its centenary.
In 2017, the plant expanded, building a new warehouse and acquiring a second. This added 3,000 square meters of covered space, bringing the San Dorligo della Valle plant to approximately 27,000 square meters, with an additional photovoltaic system, the fifth. A state-of-the-art facility.
Davide's brother, Cesare Sadoch, joined the company at the same time as the first expansion.
2022 ad oggi
From 2020s till Today
In 2022, thanks to the Rex brand, the company was included in the register of national brands of historical interest, further strengthening its historic importance.
In 2023, new and significant investments were made: the expansion of over 3,000 square meters of warehouse space for processing and storage, and the purchase of three new production machines.
The company continues to grow and believe in its mission, thanks also to the group's significant achievements.
In 2024, Saul Sadoch celebrates its 110th anniversary, projecting itself into its second "Century of Paper."
